The English Ice Hockey Association has administered ice hockey in England and Wales since 1982 and represents over 80% of ice hockey in the UK. The Association is a member of Ice Hockey UK who represents the Sport in the United Kingdom and is responsible for the Great Britain Teams. Others members of Ice Hockey UK are the Scottish Ice Hockey Association with currently approximately 44 teams and the Professional Elite league with 8 teams.
The EIHA have through the 33 affiliated clubs 372 teams covering all age groups; juniors aged under 10 to 18's and Women’s Premier and National League and Senior Men’s English Premier and National Leagues. Recreational hockey and the University sections have also an impressive and developing number of teams.
